Since the dawn of time Altua has been a diverse world, filled with mystifying species and eldritch horrors that even the most dedicated of scholars and genius scientists cannot begin to understand. Filled with ever changing theories and hypotheses about the science of Altua, some turn to their god(s) for answers, some turn to political leaders, some turn to denial, and some spend their entire lives searching for reason and purpose, only to come up dry. But one thing is clear, the world of Altua is a dangerous, inexplicable world of suffering and deceit. But despite this,some find comfort in the way people continue to survive the harshness of Altua, and even more enjoy their humble lives, which perhaps may be the strangest phenomenon of all. After all, in such a cruel misfortunate world, how could any creature find pleasure and happiness in it? Let alone the majority?
