The First Major War

The first major war involved a clash between the seven new gods, the children of Deus. This war was the consequence of newly formed deities being influenced by their worshippers adoration and worship. This war would be the first major war with loss of life and also would be the first that would bring forth demon kind onto the material plan.
The lead-up: When the seven gods were created they each picked a civilization that they would become the patron deity of these civilizations. In return for their blessings and prosperity these civilizations would worship and adore their respective patron deities.  The deities in turn would become influenced and slowly form personalities from interacting with their mortal subjects, the constant praise and adoration would instill pride and arrogance that in turn would create rifts between the gods has they each began to claim themselves to be the greatest has they all sought to show their Creator/Father/Deus how great they were at managing their people. Has this happened eventual a feedback loop of sorts would occur has the people praised their deities their deities would grant more miracles and blessing and brag too their siblings which would create instances of one-upmanship. 
Eventually the gods would grow tired of not being able to settle their differences with their and their siblings growing and changing personalities that would eventually lead them to decide to settle in combat using their individually blessed civilizations has their respective 'champions'. They declared a region that resided near all of their civilizations has the grounds for the contest. Creating the first battlefield and has combat erupted many champions and powerful individuals blessed by the gods would fight with many mortal beings perishing on all sides with the gods continuing their bickering about who would win. Careless and cut off in their understanding of the consequences of their arrogance.
Has the war dragged on many civilizations began to suffer issues with not being able to draw enough magical power to use their greatest magics or powers has each side was all consuming the same resource of the mana of the world. Though with the build up of miasma or "Dark Mana" from all the deaths and fighting would continue to build instead, has this dark energy continued to build each side tried to develop means of utilizing it to gain the upper hand. This would result in the creation of many types of dark magic from necromancy, curse and hex-making, summoning and lastly demon summoning. 
With demon summoning being limited too the summoning of familiars under control of their mortal summoners in exchange for the ability to experience life on the mortal realm and to feast on the miasma and dark energy of the mortal plane. This would add new force and influences into this war that was already destroying so much.  Eventually though the true nature of demons would come too the forefront has a demon would help develop the magic needed to create a demon gate that would create a door to the demonic plane. Tricking their summoner and his allies into creating the doorway which in turn would allow demon-kind free access to the mortal realm. This would quickly result in devastating chaos and destruction has the demons would begin attack all sides of the seven different factions. The gods would realize the severity of the gate being open on the mortal realm and would in turn unleash their created angels to help mortals fight back demon-kind. Though the battle would be slow and drag on they would eventually push back the demons close the gate. The surviving demons would scatter into the wilderness.  The resulting effects of this war and the many dead and corruption created by the demons would create The Wastelands. which remain has scar upon the world has a testament of the destruction wrought by ignorance and arrogance. The end results of this war would result in Deus taking his children and leaving the world in a period know has the @Age of Silent Chaos. Has mortals were left to find and fight amongst themselves in the wake of destruction left by the war with many of the original seven civilizations collapsing without their patron gods to support them and the wisdom to effectively run themselves, with chaos creating multitude of factions, tribes and independent groups. This era would last roughly a hundred years and would end with the return of the gods in the @Second Era.
