Magic is the core of the world, despite being hated in most circles. Artifacts, creatures, and Primordials are the source of abnormal happenings. Though despised, artifacts provide humans with a great aid, providing heat, light, and strength. These artifacts can range from a discreet magic sword to an orb of crackling electricity. No known way of destroying an artifact exists, though they can be drained of energy and reverted back to a normal item.
The resident power of unique animals and creatures is equally pronounced and vary just as much. Dragons, dullahan, elementals... they all utilize the magic their soul produces naturally.
Primordials are sentient beings, yet not entirely alive. Powerful specters that seek pacts with humans. The human does whatever tasks the Primordial wills in the physical, waking world, and in exchange the human is rendered nigh immortal.
While not inherently magical, humans have found many ways to exploit the magic of the world around them, integrating it into technology, religion, and every day life.
