Centuries ago, the continent-spanning empire known as Hispalis fell to its knees under the strain of an economic collapse caused by a capricious fae. While the nation managed to scrape by to the present, it is but a shadow of its former might. Two former Hisplan colonies have arisen to fill the power vacuum: Novise and Erythia. The two nations have been locked in a cold war over control of the known world for almost a century, ironically leading to an uneasy peace. With all potential allies too fearful of what will happen if either side gains an upper hand, the rival nations have begun to send out colonists to conquer unknown lands.   Meanwhile, The Ringed City is slowly growing rich from the conflict, its Orcish merchants trading supplies between these nations that refuse to trade directly. Will this new economic powerhouse upset the careful balance and finally tip things over the edge? Or will it succeed where Novise and Erythia are failing?
