Alphania

The world of Alphania is one where the gods have marked their place and have settled dominion over its elements. Through many discussions, the sages believe that this world has been habitable for 6000 years but, others speculate that it's less than that. Throughout the foundation of life in this world by the gods millennia ago slowly through the years creatures of different races and animals began to sprout from the gods' own hands. Contrary to what mortals believe, each race did not come from its creator from one of the gods but each god took part in the creation of all of them.   In the foundation of Alphania, the Overlord along with its subjects arrived on a barren planet drifting through the dust of space and decided to give it life in fauna and flora. In a century, Alphania had ravines, oceans, mountains, volcanoes, forests, rivers, lakes, valleys, and deserts. In the upcoming century, creatures of different races were created, granted freedom to explore the world around them and grow their knowledge of the machinations of the plane where they lived. After seeing the growth of mortals and being happy for them the gods knew that they had to prepare, for their worst enemies were to soon arrive and raze Alphania to the ground. These enemies were named by the gods as "The Lawbreakers" who were also gods themselves but incapable of killing the Overlord's subjects for gods of similar power were forever to fight to a stalemate. This first encounter of "The Lawbreakers" by the mortals was marked in history as the "First Incursion".   In this first incursion, the Lawbreakers who invaded Alphania were the Lord of the Nine Hells, The Black Hand, The Liar, The Faceless One, and The Shrieker. Observing the rifts in the world, the gods took arms alongside their creation and pushed back the evil plaguing their world to planes where these beings were forced to recover their strength. After half the destruction of Alphania, the gods created their realms to watch over their creation and offered them power. To the surprise of the gods, the mortals began worshipping them which turned the gods stronger but to not succumb to this power the gods turned these prayers into divine power that mortals could use. In addition, the Overlord was amazed by how their subjects defended their creation and granted all life the capacity to utilize the Veil which allowed them to do magic. This appearance by the Overlord would be the only time in the history of Alphania in which the Overlord would ever speak to the created directly.   After 2 millennia of peace and growth, the "Second Incursion" unfortunately occurred. In horror, the creatures that invaded were not those that belonged to the Lawbreakers but to something indescribable that came to be known as the "Outsiders". These creatures shattered the mind of many mortal creatures in which the elves resisted some of their effects but not all. As the gods heard the many pleas of the mortal, they had no choice but to return to the Mortal Plane to aid their believers. Observing the new enemy before them, Kamer with the help of Malleator worked together to design and create a new creature capable of withstanding the mind-shattering effects of the invaders. This new creation was called the Kalashtar, a race of sharp mind warriors that turned the tide of battle against the outsiders, and after a decade of war, the mortals of Alphania alongside their gods won. After the victory, the gods decided to name a representative of their faith to connect them directly so that whenever something of this magnitude happens again, the "Chosen" will call their patron god so they can enter the Mortal Plane in the fight against any entity of great evil.   Following the "Second Incursion" 2 millennia later, the "Third Incursion" began but this time the gods and the mortals were prepared and launched an immediate counterattack against an ancient enemy from an old world of the gods: Demons. What they did not expect is that a single demon commanded a near-endless horde of demons with immense power capable of instantaneously transforming the terrain around it into part of his home plane which was called The Abyss. Kamer took it upon himself to investigate this Demon leader and learned that it was a self-proclaimed Prince, now risen to a King of the Abyss. After years of warring, Rischio demonstrated the greatest feat of courage and sacrificed himself alongside his power to send the King of the Abyss back to whence it came but to a cost. In demonic legend, the creature that defeats the ruler of the Abyss becomes the ruler but such chaotic force of energy was overwhelming for Rischio and after succumbing to this energy he turned against his fellow companions. Kiria and the rest of the Subjects of the Overlord were forced to banish Rischio to the Abyss and declare a bitter victory against the demonic forces.   In the following centuries up to the present day, Rischio's sacrifice was considered the "Fall of Courage" as the gods declared he not only represented courage but the chaotic energy that fused itself with the Veil. In addition, many creatures were born with innate chaotic energy and out of fear many of them were persecuted, banished from cities, villages, and towns, and rarely killed for what they had. Although this occurred to those blessed by Rischio, his Chosen was still selected and people began to stop the murders out of fear that a "Fourth Incursion" will happen and Rischio will be considered the enemy.
