Humans

Conquerers of Almariia

In their history of establishing residence in Almariia, the Humans are almost the complete opposite of the Isilians to the east. What the elves would have taken through promises to and deception of the native Almariians, the humans took through brute force; thus earning the Elvish nickname "Erberin", meaning conquerers. The foundation of the Duven kingdoms is soaked in the blood of "half-folk", a derogatory name that the more abrasive humans use in reference to gnomes and dwarves. Once the humans gained substantial governance over western Almariia, they turned their eyes to the east; the empire of Isil. Thus began The Isilian Wars.

Mysterious Origins

Similar to the Elves of the East, there is little known of human pre-almariian history, save that they arrived from a continent named "Kraghmoor". Many legends surround the legendary continent, but most claim that it has disappeared from the material plane altogether. As for the cause of this occurrence, some humans accuse their ancestors' warlike tendencies; others blame some magical calamity, too colossal in scope for mere mortals to comprehend.

Soldiers and Tradesmen

There are two paths humans tend to take in their lives: some become soldiers in the The Rhyfel Pact; others become tradesmen and women, providing services and goods to their fellows in the Duven Kingdoms. During the lasting peace, most tend toward the latter since there are no wars to be fought; only the monsters who dwell in the wilds of the Duven Kingdoms. Those interested in fighting these monsters join the The Rhyfel Pact, who's purpose in the modern day is to drive those monsters back to the dark corners of Almariia from whence they came.
