Ricon
A small ancient empire in the Krean crater in the Echo province. This city was almost entirely underground, but was unearthed by the destruction in the great war. This large civilization is the ancestral home of the Oni.
During the war of the gods Ricon was destroyed as collateral damage. Earthquakes from the fighting rattle the city and collapsed buildings. Areas of the ground were raised to the surface and gave rise to new passageways deep into the fortresses.
Many Oni abandoned Ricon during the war. Those who choose to stay enjoy to live deep underground and continue the expansion through the crater. Nowadays people enjoy to explore the tunnels and passage ways. Scholars study the art and writing carved into the walls. This cultural study has helped to connect the Oni to the other races of Allotail.
Demographics
In the present day the population is a mix of those who come to study and those who stayed. Not many visitors stay permanently, leaving the main population to be mostly made up of Oni. Many of the non-Oni that stay permanently are the heads of research teams. Often times they will live within old homes of ancient Oni.
Government
The eldest Oni still surviving in Ricon is the disgruntled head of the council. They have a newly budding government in the present day. Its made up of the permanent residents who sit in a sort of city council type format. Through them the study and restoration of Ricon is overseen.
Traditionally the government of Ricon was made up of family groups with the strongest having the most power.

Ore, stone, metals.
Guilds and Factions

History
The Beginning
The date that Ricon first began is unknown. Scholars are beginning to narrow it down to sometime between 2341 years before the war of of the gods. The Oni used Krean Crater because of how long it was and how rich the earth was with magic. The first Oni to begin digging the city are still unknown to this day. Archaeologists are hoping to uncover more in sealed off tunnels and behind untranslated script.During the War
When the war of the gods happened parts of the crater were destroyed during the battles between the god of war Crocid and the god of Justice Bailor. The two of them fought cross the Echo Province, causing destruction where ever their weapons clashed. The death of the earth goddess, Basslea caused the crater to loose it's magic and the earth became weak and unstable. These battle caused tunnels and cities to collapse and some to get pushed to the surface. The Oni fled from the city with cries to their patron god, Crocid. During this time many Oni disguised themselves and went to live among the other races within Allotail. Many became established and left Ricon behind.
The Return
A few years after the war the Oni started to return to Ricon. Even those who had settled in other places returned to see what could be salvaged. Many where skiddish of what had happened, but most were overjoyed to see that their city had survived the battle even at all. It wasn't until 10 years later that Ricon regained a steady permanent population. Over the years the population dwindled as the crater had grown unstable and more tunnels collapsed. The lack of magic broke the hearts of many of the eldest Oni who wept for Basslea.Over the years the city became more and more of a ruin. Soon it became known as the Ricon ruins. However, out of that sprang a fascination in the history of the empire. The permanent residents started to allow scholars to visit deep underneath the ground and study the art and writings. From these first scholars sprang the reconstruction efforts as well.
Architecture
It is entirely underground. Buildings are carved out of the stone within the crater. Tunnels connect each city in a lager empire. They specialize in having temperate housing as long as you don't mind the dark or dim lighting.
