Bloody Sphere

Effect

You may expend 1d10 hit points x the level at which you cast this spell. For each 1d10 you expended the sphere of blood you call forth gains that many charges. When you cast this spell and on subsequent turns as a bonus action, you may expend one charge of the sphere to make a ranged spell attack roll against a creature in range, using the bloody sphere to launch a hardened spike, dealing 2d12 + your spellcasting ability modifier on hit. You may also choose to cast this spell as a reaction when a creature within 60 ft of you dies, you may instead pull their blood and create the sphere without paying the cost. However, the sphere will only gain 1 charge this way. You can use your reaction on subsequent turns each time a creature dies within range to pull more blood into the sphere up a maximum of 1x the spell slot you expended to cast this spell. When the sphere runs out of charges or you lose concentration, this spell ends.
