Ioskos (Iəskoʊs [Eye-Ahs-Kohs])

Ioskos was a cliffside city located on the northern coast of Tiberoa that was razed during The Sack of Ioskos, in 2E 724, by a faction of crusaders who would later be known as The Order of The Ring of Truth. During the battle, a mysterious geological event sheared half of the city off into the Pontic Sea below.   Prior to its destruction, Ioskos served as a pseudo-capital of the local region, and exerted power far inland as well as amongst the neighboring Tiberoan Archipelago. The royal line of King Deretrides was in power during the year of its fall and while they ruled over the city for only six generations, the city's history dates back nearly two and a half thousand years. The once proud fishing city also boasted a naval power that was, at the time, matched only by the Kingdom of Marete.   After the city fell, it was left completely abandoned; to this day, it is avoided by local Tiberoans at nearly any cost. The locals believe the city to be haunted by the spirits of those who died on the fateful night of its destruction, still unable to find rest. For this reason, the city lies still and dormant. A grand, decaying monument to a time that is no longer.
