Dark Corruption is spread by a handful of dark magical artifacts. This condition is not infectious.

Causes

Contact with one of the above dark magical artifacts

Symptoms

Most of the time, people do not realize they have this condition until it’s too late or until it’s gone. Symptoms include complete uncharacteristic aggression, a sudden urge to kill, and a voice inside your head telling you to do harmful things.

Treatment

The only way to remove this condition is to terminate contact with the magical artifact that caused it. Often, this is impossible to do by any outside force and is agonizingly painful.

Prognosis

This condition may eventually fuly consume its host, its thoughts becoming the host’s thoughts, until the host is simply a shell for its destructive power. However, this process takes decades, and most hosts either remove their artifacts to kill themselves (or are killed) by then.

Sequela

After being infected with Dark Corruption, the host is more likely to be paranoid, have severe nightmares and headaches, and have bad memories come back and haunt them.

Prevention

The only way to prevent this is to avoid all contact with potential magical artifacts.
