Edgar

Honored Lifegiver, Bringer of Life, The First Death

Edgar, the one who is dead, is the god of death, oaths and fate. They are both dead and yet still alive. They were and still are the cupbearer of Alfee, and act as regent of creation in their stead. They sacrificed their life so life could exist on Alfee's creation. Their death created, Cyanti as the god of life, and later Kon'rel and the Fae. Their final resting place is the alter of first death. Edgar's cup is said by some to be layed with them in death. Others say the the cup was silver an was reforged into Cyanti's cradle. In Rehai, it is believed that the Cup of Alfee is protected by the imperial house.   Edgar while dead still has influences over the world through their priests, paladins and the lasting effects of their sacrifice. All beings with souls are part of their creation. From gods to mortals and everything in between, Edgar had a hand in their making. While Winfo and Oss'so are the only two soulless gods and thus are not influenced by Edgar's woven web of fate that softly tugs on all things. Edgar's laws bind all, as well. binding more tightly the more powerful some one is. While a mortal might break the laws of hospitably and only face judgement in death, the Gods will face judgment a mere day after, if not right then and there. This is why even before the rasing of the shield between the motral realm and the others, the Gods could not always directly intervene. The divine overpowering enforcement of the laws of hospitably is why the once a decade feast between the Greater Fae and the Counsel of the Unholy happens.
Their priests are many, serving to give people their last rites, and as witness to oaths. Their Paladins are rarer, but all sworn enemies to undeath in all its forms.
