Katarla

Over View

A large tourist town on the east coast of the Lexitrovian continent, that lies along the mountain side and beachfront. Its well known for the hot springs that come down from the nearby mountain, mount Miyatoko. The beach side is also a popular spot for tourists as it has warm ocean currents and tropical coral reeves, fish and other ocean life.

There is a small military presence from the Emeraldite crusaders, but they are pretty lax and only tend to interfere if the need really arises, or if something major occurs.

Katarla is governed by a Dorin Dominion representative, Gullivar Paddock, a large and well rounded Human, kind face with no beard or moustache, short black trimmed hair and rounded spectacles. He's well known around town and frequently walks about talking to people and checking up on everyone. ----------

Points of Interest

Mount Miyatoko Temple Temple of the Land Keeper, built on the side of the mountain, the spring waters used for baptisms. Not very large temple but easy to spot, A more dull and overgrown building than the rest of town, whilst still having a grandeur texture. Pretty small staff consisting of only the bishop, and a dozen helpers. ---

Mount Miyatoko

The mountain that Katarla is built upon. A dormant Volcano, produces naturally hot spring water that runs down to the ocean. It has hiking trails that are rarely used due to dangerous indigenous creatures. ---

Katarla General Hospital

A small, two storey, building that accommodates 10 or so patients, small operating room, life threatening aliments are uncommon. It's mostly soldiers and adventurers who get injured. There is a Cleric staff on standby.

Staff comprised of three doctors; Dr. Cornelius Linker (Human, 52, black hair, clean shaven), Dr. Lula Brakstin (Elf, 157, short dark brown hair) and Dr. Rita Haverdor (Tiefling, 34, Red hair, warm orange skin, black ram horns, black eyes) Along with about 5 nurses and 2 Clerks. ---

Palm Tree Garden

Mid-class tavern, can accommodate about 10. Like Goldenbay Canal, has great food and amazing views, rooms are a lot more affordable, especially for travelers and adventurers. (5sp/night

Owned by the male Dragonborn, Slade Olsen, the workers are all female, ranging mostly between human, elf and half-elf with a half-orc in the mix. Slade is a gruff man, but a great manager and works as his own bouncer. ---

Rusty Crustacean

Low end tavern and bar, rooms available are a lot cheaper, but smaller and little furniture besides beds and a small side table.

Run by a scruffy looking Human male, goes by Warren, works along side an even scruffier looking Firbolg who goes by Bastion. Neither are friendly, then again place still runs, it's located in clustered part of town. There's always a couple card games that tend to bring some attention. ---

GoldenBay Shrine

Along shoreline of GoldenBay sits a small shrine dedicated to the Coral King, Sodoom. Similar to Port Side Shrine in Ee-jin, both in structure, color and popularity. The caretaker of this shrine is Archiballetto's cousin, Sebastian Terrinson, he too is an older earth Genasi. ---

Katarla Mayoral House

The Mayoral house lies in the central area of the mountainous part of town, it works as a meeting place, court house, political accommodation and the housing for Mayor Gullivar and his small family. Its a large greyish building that looks a little grand but still fits in with the holiday aesthetic of the town. ---

Hatricker Pub

This small pub is run by a Boulder-like Earth Genasi who goes as Nick or Nickelous. Serves some great drinks, but being a small place the pub can only hold about 15 or so patrons. There is one person working there besides Nick, a gruff looking dragonborn, Howahdin Banodi. ---

Kat-lodge Hot Springs

The Popular place of accommodation, they created hot-spring baths using the natural water of Mount Miyotoko, as well as a hotel which can house about 20 people, the fees are quite reasonable and the room are very comfy, with a lovely view of the entire town. ---

Oceanika Guild Hall

Small adventurers Guild, close to Basil Harbor, about 27 members all below Platinum rank, excluding Master Hadrien Von LochteShlick, Platinum Rank Offers accommodation, built in tavern, small armory and a Library. The Sigil of Oceanika is an upright Trident with a sun behind it made of coral.

-Phantom Phaze, specialize in stealth missions, team of three rogue/fighters, 2 male humans (Shane- 27, black hair, brown eyes, tall, well built, guild sigil on left hand- and Quix- 25, shorter, skinnier, brown hair, green eyes, guild sigil on left side of neck) and a female Air genasi (Stella- 29, pale blue hair, white eyes, attractive, guild sigil on right thigh). All silver rank.

-Collateral Damage, Combat tank group. They know how to make an entrance. Team of fighters/Barbarians/Paladins. 2 male Goliath's (Slate & Boulder- both 29, both pretty dumb, anger issues, but friendly. wear the guild sigil as earrings) ,2 female Dwarves (Roxanne & Dreytha- 105 & 102, both black hair, Rox is stubborn, Dre is mellow, close friends, wear the guild sigil as short necklaces), 1 male Dwarf (Reiger- 134, smart, likes using his fists and drinking, odd sense of humor, guild sigil slightly above sternum) 1 Human girl (Veena, 37, Redhair, blue eyes, well built, rough. Doesn't mind a good sparring match, guild sigil on right forearm) all silver rank

-Crack-Shot, 1 Half-elf (Vince, 64 (elven yrs), looks young, sorcerer, blonde, green eyes, slender figure but still muscular, prideful, cocky, guild sigil on his right torso) 2 Halflings, (Skritter- 34, scruffy orange hair, smart, loves explosions and justice. A bit looney, likes to tinker. Deemoe- 42, Ranger, level headed, show off, tough guy, black hair, tactical, guild sigil on his tongue) and 1 female Tabaxi (Lynx, 22, leapard, rogue, sharpshooter, group leader, scary yellow eyes, guild sigil on a ring she wears) the guys are silver rank, Lynx is Gold.

-Shell Shock, 1 Tortle ( Yubo, male,37, tall and lean, excluding his shell, druid, wears a bandana, kinda like a mentor to others. Guild symbol on shell) 1 Human girl ( Ellina, 18, warlock, ginger, cute, little shy, guild sigil on a right earing) 1 elf guy ( Adrishan, 162, black hair, sleek figure, fighter, one green eye one brown, guild sigil on inside of his left forearm) and 1 half-elf girl ( Anastallia, 42(elven yrs), black hair, blue eyes bard- plays viol, slim and on shorter side) Yubo and Anastallia are silver rank, Ellina is copper rank and Adrishan is gold rank. ---

GoldenBay Canal

A hotel along the waterfront of Golden Bay. A high end establishment that has luxurious rooms and is difficult to get into as it is usually fully booked through reservations, even with the lucky chance that there is space the rates of these rooms are quite expensive.The built in restaurant isn't as packed and the meals there are a lot more affordable. The food is great and the view that you get from the restaurant is mesmerizing. ---

Bazil Harbor

Small harbor at end of Golden Bay, mostly holds small ships used for sightseeing and diving tours. Also a small import of minor goods from Ee-jin Valley.

Few ships that actually dock at the harbor, often extremely quiet. The warden is a well aged, quite rounded and half-drunk dwarf ,name Kenathan Bendridge, he's quite well known as "Kenny Drunkridge" ---

Katarla Crusader Outpost

Large plot that houses about 100 soldiers, including a small barracks, training ground and mess hall. Military presence isn't big, they are pretty laid back and non-shallot about many things, in fact they have been known to get into small , but friendly, competitions with the locals.

Supervising officers here are Sergeant Major Joshua Becker, a well known and very friendly Minotaur in his late 40's, Seargent Sierra Strander, a young aspiring Air genasi in her 20's and Corporal Heilix Friggs, a older Tiefling in his 30's

Large underground area with prison cells for roudy thieves and common pickpocketers. The more dangerous ones are taken to Azkodorn in the city of Ludenmor ---

Katarla Tram Station A small Single platform station for the passenger tram that runs out of Eejin Valley through the Mizaylian Jungle to Katarla. Situated near the base of Miyatoko Mountain, the tram enters the Town through a tunnel that has been dug out. The tram only comes to the town every other week. ---

Stores in Town

Handy Herbs - the local herbalist, owner there is a young halfling, Joenah Swatch. Dark blue hair, short with a bit of a buzzcut, a plantlike tatoo around his collar, green eyes.

Muffin House - Bakery owned by the Firbolg, Freddrin Wenlox, pale blue fur, hair features are more black, shorter than the average, and his wife, Merinah Wenlox, taller than Freddrin, her fur is more of a light brown, hair features are a darker brown.

Backstrap leatherworks - a leather shop, sells leather based items and clothes, owned and run by a male half dwarf/half gnome named Ayden.

Salty Butchers - A meatshop owned by a young, but real tough looking, Goliath, long black hair in a single long braid, barely any tattoo's on her body. Goes by Dreyga, not a fan for small talk.

Exotic but Convienient - the department store that sells common wears and equipment, run by Tigeress Tabaxi girl, Kaira, bright blue eyes, masculine clothing and quite a couple ear piercings and even a looped nose ring . Bit of a temper and kinda gruff, but her tiefling friend, Alexander Theodosius Nevillion, deep purple/red skin, short jagged horns, a deep blue color, uncharacteristically dark blue eyes and black hair, upper torso is covered in sailing tattoo's, quite the odd but friendly face.

Timmy Trinkets - A souvenir store along the waterfront area of the town, run by a goblin called Lazlo Spickle. He sells a variety of wares, little statues of fishes, anchors, small boats etc. All handcrafted, course this doesn't bring in the customers, nor does being a goblin as they are notorious for being looters and killers. And on a few occasions Lazlo has had some horrible days in Katarla, the only reason he's allowed in town is because of his caretaker, Mr Renny Barcellio. (Check NPC info)

Soil and Turmoil - a small gardening store run by a young dwarf lady, Delliah, short brown hair, green eyes. Great love for flowers and shrubs. Knows a little about druidcraft as well. Wishes to go an a trip to the Belnezian Continent to go visit "The Keepers Den" the largest temple of the land keeper and said to house the worlds largest flower garden. But lacks funding.

The shelved Booklet - A cozy little cottage that was transformed into a book store by a elderly Firblog lady, Kimmelia Dingehat. She sell and rent out books that she managed to collect over years to the youngsters of the town, shes good friends with the mayor's wife who visits Kimmelia quite often.

Golden gates Blacksmith - Dwarf, Jericho, bald , dark brown/reddish beard, slightly singed.

Tropical melodies - young male halfling - Kite Flabberjack. ---

The undershift market A large illegal market area. Filled with collapsible carts and stores, shady figures all selling peculiar and odd items. Things from alcohol and drugs to minor magic-items that are practically impossible to find. It's a sort of square surrounded by buildings and alleyways that have been blocked off and converted into secret doors. The skylight is blocked off by some large trees (Not uncommon for the streets of Katarla), as well as some illusion enchantments, courtesy of the protector and one of the most wanted criminals on the Eastern part of Lexitrove, Aggregor Ranstitch.

The only entrances to the market are through two secret doors in alleyways, the guards reply to the phrase; "Agree to trade of wares" they will then do a check of those who have used the phrase and allow passage for 5sp per person. Alternatively, you could use the same phrase in the stores, salty butchers and backstrap leatherworks. They will allow entry through the back of their stores for 8sp per person.

House of Dawn

A large tavern/ hotel along the beach front. The establishment can accommodate about 15 patrons, each room fitted with a large spacious balcony overlooking the ocean, two single or a double bed, a dresser, a bathroom with a bath and shower, and a table with seating for 4. The food and drinks served are all freshly purchased and prepared, the meals can be anything from fine seafood cuisine to a common light breakfast to a fresh hot dessert.

The tavern is owned by young half Elven couple, Adrian and Tyler Heigrish. They took over the place from Tyler's Uncle Devon. Thankfully the place was already staffed and thing had been running smoothly anyways, with Adrian helping run the kitchen and Tyler Doing all the manual and financial work their new passion became this tavern and it has been profiting well.

There are five tavern maids, Jillian, the more experienced Tiefling lady, Sherry, the young spunky human girl, Koryah, the gruff and blunt half Orc, Ceilia, the tall and vibrant Firbolg, and Katya, the sly and trixy tabaxi girl.

The Kitchen chefs consist of the Goliath, Joebo, big fan of meats and an excellent chef, Urslua, the Tabaxi sue chef, works well we fruits and seafood, Virgil, the Half-orc pastry chef, and finally young Timmothy, the fire Genasi, great person to have in the kitchen and knows his way around a plethora of dishes.

The tavern floor is run by a group of halflings guys, the blonde hair Larry, Red head Rhody, Black Beard Barry and Brown hair bun Harry. They overseer is a friendly Bugbear who runs the bar, Regulis Howzer, goes by Reggie. ---------
