Davis Orland is the chairman of the Orlan Transportation Consortium and current member of the Council of Nine.

Personal history

Davis Orlan describes himself as the ultimate self-made man, having built a transportation empire of lightning rails from the ground up; however, he often leaves out the part that his father was a high lord in Vexela and provided the financing for the empire.  Orlan was born wealthy, learning from an early age how to navigate high society throughout Vexela and the Free Cities.  In his teenaged years, he traveled on one of his family's ships and saw the southern nations and took an interest in the Kamari Protectorate especially.  He became fast friends with then-Prince Artosian and wished to figure out a better way of linking Vexela with its Kamari allies.  Meeting with engineers and mercenary troops, he had the idea of building a transcontinental lighting rail.

Education

Orlan studied at the Rooksport Academy of Innovation, finishing solidly in the middle of his class.  He took an interest in applications of aether and tried to determine how this new technology may be able to power older inventions.  This led to his interest in lightning rails, which would later be the foundation for his business.

Morality & Philosophy

A notorious hounddog, Orlan has fathered 4 children by 3 different marriages and at least 2 bastard children from his extramarital affairs.
