You delve into the advanced techniques of either the College of Lore or the College of Valor.
College of Lore
Bonus Proficiencies: At 3rd level, you gain proficiency with 3 skills of your choice.
Cutting Words: At 3rd level, you can use your reaction to expend a use of Bardic Inspiration against any creature making an attack roll, ability check, or damage roll within 60 feet of you. The Inspiration die is subtracted from the creature's roll. The creature is immune if it can't hear you or is immune to being charmed. This can be done after the d20 is rolled, but before the outcome is determined.
Additional Magical Secrets: At 6th level, you learn 2 spells from any class. It must be of a level you can cast, and doesn't count against your number of bard spells known.
Peerless Skill: At 14th level, when you make an ability check, you can expend one use of Bardic Inspiration to add an Inspiration die to one of your ability checks.

College of Valor
Bonus Proficiencies: At 3rd level, you gain proficiency with medium armor, shields, and martial weapons
Combat Inspiration: At 3rd level, a creature with Bardic Inspiration can add their Inspiration die to a weapon's damage roll. They can also use their reaction to add the Inspiration die to their AC when targeted for an attack. This can be done after the d20 is rolled, but before the outcome is determined.
Extra Attack: At 6th level, you can attack twice for your action.
Battle Magic: At 14th level, you can make a weapon attack after casting a bard spell for your action.
