Thunder Harrier

Description

Thunder Harriers are a widespread species of Thunderbird that can be found on every continent except for Antarctica. Unsurprisingly Thunder Harriers resemble various species of non anomalous Harriers. This gives Thunder Harriers a wide array of different plumage colours such as grey, white, brown, tan, orange, and gold. Physically Thunder Harriers are slightly smaller than their cousins and far more slender. This smaller size and frame are more than made up for however as Thunder Harriers are capable of reaching unprecedented speeds.

Morphology

Thunder Harriers first and foremost appear as exceedingly large instances of non anomalous harrier species. Though extremely large they are the smallest of the Thunderbird species with instances maxing out at a roughly 15 metre wingspan. This is accompanied by the slender and tall frame of the Thunder Harrier, maximising its speed by reducing weight. Whereas most other Thunderbird species weigh roughly 140kg a Thunder Harrier will commonly only weigh around 85kg. This allows Thunder Harriers to move faster than any of their cousins.   One of the most iconic features of a Thunder Harrier is of course the colour of their plumage. Much like non anomalous Harrier species the Thunder Harrier can sport all sorts of different colours across its form. Predominantly these are browns or tans though greys, whites, blacks, and even oranges or golds have been observed. This makes Thunder Harriers far easier to spot than their cousins.

Abilities

Thunderbirds possess no unique Abilities compared to others of their species, nor do they show any marked superiority in any one feat. Of course their ability to fly is without question, along with their Atmospheric Manipulation abilities.

Behaviour and Psychology

Thunder Harriers do not display any abnormal Behaviours or Psychology for their species.

Habitat & Diet

Thunder Harriers can be found across the globe, often upon mountains surrounded by large grassy plains. Though they can be found globally Thunder Harriers are far more commonly encountered in Eurasia and Africa than anywhere else.   Thunder Harriers show no preference for any specific prey animal, consuming what they can find and easily hunt. They do however require slightly less protein annually, needing only around 85kg a year to sustain themselves.

Combat & Containment

Fortunately due to their widespread nature standard combat and containment protocols are in place for dealing with Thunder Harriers. For all intensive purposes they can be treated as the standard for Thunderbird encounters.   It should be noted that the speed of a Thunder Harrier may be a surprise or far faster than predicted. This should be taken into account when attempting to pursue or terminate a rogue instance.
