East Asian Thunder Bird
Description
Found only in the Eastern reaches of the Asian continent these Thunderbirds are some of the rarest to encounter. Resembling a pacific sea eagle in colouration and having a wingspan of roughly 18 metres on average makes these Thunderbirds an imposing sight. Tales tell of the mythic era in which these Thunderbirds ruled all of the Eastern world.Morphology
East Asian Thunderbirds are comparable in size to their more common cousins though many are slightly larger. In appearance however the closest resemblance would be the Pacific Sea Eagle, better known as the Steller's Sea Eagle. This gives East Asian Thunderbirds a unique look, making them easily recognisable among their cousins. Predominantly their plumage makes great use of dark tones of brown, with a striking white on the underside of their wings, much like their non anomalous counterparts. In some instances a blackish brown is the predominant colour of plumage, all made more iconic by the great yellow / orange hooked beak. This colouration is also seen on the legs and feet of the East Asian Thunderbird.Abilities
East Asian Thunderbirds present no abnormal abilities or powers for their species.Behaviour and Psychology
Although for the most part the East Asian Thunderbirds act and think similarly to their cousins it should be noted that as there are only a few left that they may be slightly more hostile. This hostility is mostly due to self preservation instincts in a rapidly industrialising Asia. In the past it has been noted that East Asian Thunderbirds appear to be far less trusting of mortal humans than other subspecies.Habitat & Diet
East Asian Thunderbirds show no abnormalities in their diet for their species, though it has been noted that they appear to have more of a taste for aquatic prey. Unlike other subspecies East Asian Thunderbirds hunt both on land and at sea. Traditionally the Sea of Japan was the primary hunting grounds for East Asian Thunderbirds though modernity has forced this practice into history. This is due to the majority of East Asian Thunderbird instances being found on the coasts of China, Korea, Russia, and Japan.Combat & Containment
Though there are no specific containment protocols for East Asian Thunderbirds it should be noted that instances will most likely be encountered at sea. Whilst upon the open sea East Asian Thunderbirds hold a massive advantage. Instances have been observed being able to cause irreparable damage to larger military vessels using their atmospheric manipulation.Footnotes
