Amazonian Thunder Bird

Description

Rare even in their native lands these majestic Thunderbirds are most likened to a Bird of Paradise. Sporting an array of bright and colourful feathers these entities are one of rarest sights to witness on our mortal plane. Along with their dazzling colours comes brightly coloured arcana and streaks on energy as they soar above the rarely flown skies of the Amazon.

Morphology

It is not difficult to see why many equate the appearance of an Amazonian Thunderbird to that of a Bird of paradise. Though these majestic creatures strongly resemble a macaw in body, their feathers can appear as seemingly any pattern. Many of recorded patterns appear to be mimicking non anomalous birds of paradise, though interestingly there has never been two identical colouration and patterns recorded. This makes Amazonian Thunderbirds some of the most unique of their species, with many cultures and peoples from across history converting the beautiful fathers of these entities.

Abilities

Though they do not possess any unique Arcane abilities it has been noted that the bright and sometimes dazzling colours of Amazonian Thunderbirds has been known to confuse some individuals. It is known that Amazonian Thunderbirds employ this tactic regularly due to their pension for engaging aggressors on the ground. It should also be noted that Amazonian Thunderbirds are less likely to use Atmospheric Manipulation whilst traversing the jungle.

Behaviour and Psychology

Amazonian Thunderbirds display no sub species specific behaviours or psychological abnormalities. It should be noted however that many instances encountered in the new millennium have been aggressive and untrusting of Anomalous Security Personnel.

Habitat & Diet

Uniquely for their species Amazonian Thunderbirds dwell within the heart of the Amazon. Though they still dwell upon their lonely mountain homes like their cousins they can more often be found roaming the jungle. Even more unlike their cousins the Amazonian Thunderbird often simply walks upon the earth unlike its cousins which choose to soar above its clouds. Due to the thick tree cover of many areas of their habitat Amazonian Thunderbirds are often forced to land and then venture into the jungle. Though this may seem dangerous they are more than capable of slaying any of the jungle's non anomalous denizens. Amazonian Thunderbirds are mostly carnivorous, feasting on any living prey it can easily discover.

Combat & Containment

Amazonian Thunderbirds do not require any species specific combat and containment protocols. It should be noted however that due to the nature of their habitat instances will be more commonly engaged whilst firmly upon the ground.
