Alam Er

In the time before speech, six books were written by the Hofundum that governed and shaped the world. The first four books each controlled one of the basic emotions: Joy, Sorrow, Anger, and Fear. The fifth book held the power of Life, Creation, and Light, and the final book held the power of Death, Destruction, and Dark.   The Bibliothecarii, or "keepers of the books," were entrusted with studying and protecting the six books. They are aided by the Docenti - the caretakers. Eras came and went, and the world of Elam Er prospered. Then one of the Bibliotecarii did the forbidden - he read aloud from book of life to a room full of followers. Power intended only for the Hofendum to wield was unleashed. The Biblioth and the followers present were transformed into the droog - twisted, undying creatures.   The droog wrought havoc upon the lands of Elam Er, and the idyllic world was transformed forever. The droog were eventually banished into the Unwritten Realm.
