The Cataclysm

The Cataclysm is a well known event that has long since marred the world. The only recorded happenings is on a device or project called Tintavel, a means from which the Old Empire struck back against the Titans on a global scale.
When the Father Earth's titans began crushing whole villages under their feet on purpose, the Old Empire had realized there was a serious problem on their hands. There was no effective way to stop the behemoths, whole armies were destroyed in a matter of seconds, and not a single titan was even harmed by the Old Empire. Their solution was to cast a spell, or develop some kind of weapon that could kill them all in a single use, however impractical this idea was, there was little choice in the matter, the titans were set on crushing all life in Alageer and no negotiations were going to be made by the giant beings.
We are unsure if it was a spell or an object or several spells or objects that caused the Cataclysm, but we do know what ever the project or object or spell was, it was called Tintavel. It was used 618 years ago (Approximately), and historians far out of reach of the blast recorded seeing a blinding flash of light and a giant sphere that expanded from it's center that covered the world in a matter of one or two minutes, this sphere obliterated everything in the nearby region forming the region now called Hollow Wastes. While the rest of the world was hit by this blast, many died, some were spared, and many more were twisted by the magic. But most importantly, all the titans were turned to stone, and either toppled over and crumbled under their own weight or froze where they stood. The largest titan known as "The Red Titan" crushed half of the continent under itself.
It is assumed that the magical twisting of many creatures gave birth to a vast array of new species in the world, such as the Kenku, and Lizardmen of the swamps, or Minotaurs, Leonin of the steppes, and fused people with animals, making Centuars, Satyrs. And a slew of other creatures, many of which we are certain Raija twisted further into her own way.
