Akitsushima

An Asian inspired world. Akitushima is a world split between four powerful clans, each vowing for power and trying to continue the legacy of a disowned Royal Family. Split between dense jungles, wide grasslands and Snowy Hills, Akitsushima is a land that is beautiful but corrupted by constant fighting by the Clans, criminality and piracy. My initial inspiration to make Akitsushima is my initial interest in Japanese History, mostly awakened by the Yakuza franchise. Specifically, the two Japan Exclusive samurai spinoffs, Ryu ga Gotoku Kenzan! and Ryu ga Gotoku Ishin!. Which take place in the Sengoku/Edo Period and the Bakumatsu Period respectively. You will see more similarities with Yakuza in my World with its Characters, but that's a topic for later.
