The Dreaming Weald (ðə ˈdriːmɪŋ ˈwiːld)

“Look on every exit as being an entrance somewhere else.”
— Tom Stoppard, Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead
There are places in the Material Plane where the Feywild spills over into reality. stretches of the material plane that have been wholly suffused with the essence of fairyland, and the nature of what is “real” becomes soft and pliable as different realities mingle. The Dreaming Weald is one such place. Originally a simple but ancient forest, the Dreaming Weald was the site of the First City, Tor Galen, the ruins of which still litter the centre of the ancient wood. Since that time, however, the forest was made into the Dreaming Weald by the power of the Cauldron and the gods that wielded it.

Now, it is a place of impossibility. A land infused with raw magic, the Dreaming Weald bears the scars of the Convection and the rending of planes: a storied stretch of forest untouched by any but the oldest civilisation and run through with the deepest magic. Ponds hang above the ground, the trees press so low and dense that it feels as if one could be underground, and directions like left, right, up, or down start losing their meaning. What roads there are, spiral into nothing, and rivers begin to flow upwards as one comes closer to the centre of the Weald: the expansive Wealdloch.

Tarry too long in this land of wonder transport to the Feywild is inevitable; from both sides of the Fey Crossing that is the Dreaming Weald. The Dreaming Weald lies in the realm of the Spring Court, from whence can be travelled to the other Courts of the Feywild.
