Aitheras

The Galaxy of Aitheras is a bright spot of life in the vast universe. Many races dot the stars systems in the galaxy, from the noble Star Elves to the warlike Vesk and the gentle Cellians, Aitheras is filled with life, intelligence and wonder.   Eons ago, the galaxy was ruled by a ruthless empire known as the Vorr Empire. Their reach spanned all the Ten Sectors and they made their capitol at the Center. It is said that for ten milleniums the empire ruled, and then the decline started. Most of the history from the decline itself is corrupted and unuseable. It is theorized that the Vorr Empire descended into civil war and destroyed itself. Two Milleniums have passed since the Great Collapse, since the Center was abandond. Now, the Galaxy is fought over by various forces and factions, trying to secure their power and influence in the Galactic Stage.   Since the Collapse, many factions has risen to power. The Humans of Valemguard reached across the stars and claimed their place, the Vesk spread their clans across their close systems, the Cellians claimed their lost worlds, the Lashunta gained their freedom at last, the Kasatha found a system to call home and the Elves re-established the Galactic Stage, a council of all speices in Aitheras. Each culture that joins sends a representative to it and once a speices is considered advanced enough, they elect a chancellor to help guide the rest of the galaxy towards greatness.   The Stage does not stop wars. The Stage itself is a place for negotiation and diplomacy, but it will not interfere with every conflict. It is there to maintain order and balance.   Yet, the stage and politics of Aitheras does not concern all, some individuals simply Drift. Those who are called "Drifters" are adventurers, explorers and travelers that sail through space and explore all of it's ancient history, anomalies, magic and oddeities. They are the pioneers of a new era of exploration since the Great Collapse.
