Dwarves

The Dwarves of Atera are hardy folk, who value hard work, their clan, and a good brew (or 12). Each of the three gods created one of the three main Dwarven sub-races.

• Vityx created the Hill Dwarves
• Tudon created the Mountain Dwarves

Geographic Origin and Distribution

The Dwarves of Atera are found within many different regions. 

• Hill Dwarves- Regions with many hills (The Scalding Downs, Steel Hills) and occasionally cities/towns
• Mountain Dwarves- Mountainous regions (Dragonrest Spire)
• Gray Dwarves- Dwarven Strongholds (Dag Brandurr, Huljiharr)

History

Hill Dwarves

The Hill Dwarves of Atera are considered the friendliest of the Dwarven sub-races. The first Hill Dwarves elected to build their settlements in the hills of Atera providing them with a place to mine ores and allowing for easy overland trade with other peoples. 

Mountain Dwarves

The Mountain Dwarves of Atera are one of the hardiest people on the continent. They are unafraid of harsh weather conditions such as the icy tundra of Northern Atera. These Dwarves built their first settlements in the mountains so they could prevent the monsters of the mountains from reaching the civilized lands of Atera. 

Gray Dwarves

The Gray Dwarves of Atera are considered more greedy than their cousins. They built their first settlements under the mountains in an attempt to gain a monopoly on the precious gems and metals of Atera. To this day, the have a corner on this market and often will inflate prices just to earn a few extra gold pieces.
