Dragonborn

Dragonborn are not considered a monstrous race despite their draconic appearance. The Dragonborn are a proud, clan-centric people. When a member of a Dragonborn clans leaves that clan, it is most often for the betterment of the clan (i.e. finding a cure for an elder, they have committed an atrocity, etc.).

Geographic Origin and Distribution

Dragonborn are typically found in the elevated (mountains, hills, cliffs) regions of Atera. Prior to the rise of Rhazian Kane, many Dragonborn were found in the Anders Rise mountain range.

Civilization and Culture

History

Dragonborn have always valued their clans above all else. This predisposition towards civilized groups was one of the main reasons they were not classified as a monstrous race. 

Dragons

Many Dragonborn rever dragons as their god-ascended ancestors. Though Dragons making an appearance in the civilized areas of Atera is incredibly rare, it seems to occur more frequently in areas with many Dragonborn. 
When Yth, the Progenitor was slain in Ice, 563, the Dragonborn of Atera mourned for a full century. The day of his (17 Ice, 563) death is considered the most sacred day in Dragonborn culture.
