Four Mills Bridge
A bridge named after the four flour mills that were built out over the water, using the river to power their large grain grinding stones.
History
The Four Mills Bridge started out as a single mill that was set along the riverbank outside of the newly built city. As the city grew there was more need for flour, which was met by the construction of a mill on the opposite bank with a bridge between the two mills. Two additional mills were constructed on the bridge, leading it to be renamed Four Mills.
