Lithzai

The City of Lithzai, also known simply as Lithzai and, after its downfall, the Ruins of Lithzai, was the capital of the minotaur nation of the same name, located deep within the Lithzai Caverns under the Charmaran Mountains, in Valendar. Originally called Zyital, the city's name changed after the city's leaders began worshipping the demon Lithsorai.

Demographics

Since most records of the city's population were lost when it was overtaken by demons, it's unknown how many inhabitants it had before falling to ruin.
All known citizens of Lithzai were minotaurs, with members of other races being usually eaten or sacrificed to Lithsorai soon after being captured.

History

Zyital was one of the first settlements built by the bostaurs of Valendar after they were exiled to the caverns of the Charmaran Mountains by mountain dwarves during the First Charmaranic War. As the bostaurs adapted to the harsh environment of the underground and became minotaurs, the lithzaians were approached by Lithsorai, an entity claiming to be a powerful demon willing to grant them the power required to get revenge on the dwarves, and began worshipping it. The city, which was renamed to Lithzai after its patron, grew and its inhabitants began spreading the worship to other settlements, eventually forming the nation of Lithzai with the city of the same name as its capital.
Around this time, the mountain dwarf settlement of Grellun had become its own city as well, and the dwarves were expanding through the caverns in order to keep the minotaurs in check. While the more isolated individuals and clans failed to surpass the dwarves, the lithzaians proved themselves to be fierce combatants thanks to the power they were granted by their fiendish deity, and the Second Charmaranic War began.
