Dwarf

Basic Information

Anatomy

Dwarves have thick, abundant hair, especially on their heads. Male dwarfs commonly grow long beards, wel-groomed and sometimes braided into elaborate patterns. Their skin tones range from pale pinkish-white to dark ebony, largely divided along tribal lines.

Dwarfs are broad-chested, tough and strong for their size. Their short legs are ill-suited to running and make it difficult to swim or ride horses. Ears are gently pointed, but not to the degree of elves or windlings.

Social Structure

A dwarf's first loyalty is to their family and tribe, but can easily transfer that loyalty to their home town, city or kingdom. Dwarves prefer to live close to, or under, the earth with multiple generations of extended family under the same roof.
