After Mars

The growing Martian Confederation has decided to make contact with Earth again, after 500 years of isolation. They have built space stations and colonized the moons of Mars, as well as the 5 Cities of Mars, but they wish to expand out to the other uninhabited planets in the solar system, and perhaps one day beyond, and they seek an alliance with Earth. But much has changed since the original mars colony declared independence, and they must now reconcile vastly different cultures.   The culture of Mars is one of libertarianism and egalitarianism. It is one ultimately concerned with maximum freedom, but due to it's rocky beginning it remains surprisingly militaristic, in the hopes of maintaining freedom for all Martian citizens.   Earth, on the other hand, has taken a drastic downturn. Divided between the Empire, where every aspect of your life down to where you live and who you marry are chosen by the government, and Nottus, ruled by massive corporations with little in the way of government interference, most people on Earth are suffering.
