The United Peoples of Kaivasa

Made up by the ethnic groups of the region known as Kaivasa, The United Peoples of Kaivasa are ruled by a government system combining both an elected leader referred to as the Scion as well as multiple branches of government led by elected council-members. One could easily call the UPK a young country, but the peoples in this region would argue that the UPK is simply a more formalized variation on the former disparate city-states in the region before the time of Dread King Roburr L'Affiligi who led the forces to occupy their lands. Under the organization of the UPK they are ruled by the same Scion who commanded the revolutionary cleansing of those foreign dignitaries which were placed over the head of the tribal peasants in the past century. This event is commonly referred to as @The Great Upheaval within the UPK education system. The national election cycle is once every six years for large positions like Scions and every three years for elected council-members. There is no maximum term limit. The practice of magic is allowed only for those educated under the Scionist programs and schools, the largest of these is called the Superior Chamber and is in the city @Matkosh. While many other nations also have schools for magic, none have excelled so marvelously as Kaivasa has in the last 30 years, due to the open enrollment opportunities provided the Kaivasa peasantry to make something of themselves. While it is not considered appropriate in the modern UPK for an individual to identify strongly with any particular ethnic group, there are still some features that have melded into the more general Kaivasan culture by way of popular works, diets, and artists of those regions whose work was heavily inspired by and influenced by their cultural heritage in opposition to the occupation.
