Faelanar
The Faelanar are a race of lion-like people. Their origin is shrouded in mystery, but many of their ancient myths tell a story of a race loosing their world to a great enemy only surviving due to benevolence of the gods.
Basic Information
Anatomy
Faelanar can easily switch between bipedal and quadrupedal walk, while most only use bipedal walk for short distances. On two feet, males stand about 6' high and have a shoulderheight of about 4' when on all fours. Females are usually about 1' smaller in height and 1/2' less in shoulderheight. Faelanar have a strong tail, with the male tail pummeled. Much like their ancestors, the Faelanar skeleton is mostly only connected by muscles and sinews and others are very great flexibility and force absorption. They are covered in strong fur, mostly in shades of brown.
Genetics and Reproduction
Males sport magnificent manes, which are a secondary sexual organ. Faelanar do not have visible primary sexual organs. The male penis is housed in a sheath, while female teats are hidden in their fur. Faelanar females are fertile for about two weeks per year and give birth to two to six cubs about six months after impregnation. Faelanar never loose their fertility due to age.
Growth Rate & Stages
Faelnar grow up fast. They start to consume solid foods about a month after birth, start puberty with about six years and are considered fully grown with about eight years. They have their prime between eight and twenty years of age and decline until their usual life expectancy of 35 years.
