Basara

The name Basara refers to the lands in the south-eastern corner of the continent. It spans a massive area of nearly 2 million square miles, ending at the very tip of the "Maw". Traditionally, the lands have been home to the Malqik people who are split into various clans and tribes, some of which survived the Great Calamity to thrive in the present era. Examples of well-known locations in Basara include Hajar al-Abayad (The White City), an ancient city made out of polished white stone and the Maladhtidal, a temple dedicated to Ghashada, the Jyn of Temperance.

Geography

Semi-arid plains stretch out to cover most of Basara, but there are sizable pockets of shrubbery and grass patches, plus quite a few lakes and rivers as well. The sandy brown soil is suitable for farming after being mixed with river silt. Certain species of trees have adapted to life in the region and can be found growing in clumps near water sources.
