Primordials Myth in Aetheus | World Anvil

Primordials

The Primordials were god-like beings made of manifest entropy and elemental energy who was born and ruled from the essence of the Elemental Chaos - unlike gods, whose domains and origin lie within the Astral Sea.

HISTORY

Upon the epoch in which the multiverse was born from the One Who Came Before, in which spheres containing several worlds drifted into being. The worlds contained no life, but they were coveted by powerful beings that arose from the Elemental Chaos, known today as Primordials. At some point in time, came the Great Cradle, from which the Divines arose from the ocean of silvery liquid leftover from the creation of the realms (the Astral Sea), unbeknown to the Primordials. They defended the new worlds from the Primordials, naturally as primordial were beings of entropy and destruction. Thus began the Great War, and other gods were created from the residue of the conflict or summoned from other dimensions to aid the native gods of the Astral Sea and across Realmspace.   The war turned into the Divines favour, upon which the union of the Pantheon assisted the elder gods in the slaying, imprisoning, or driving away from the remaining Primordials.   Upon the closing days of the war, the Divines and the Primordials came to an agreement at the end of a cataclysmic period. This intervention sundered the universe into two, separate spheres. The Primordials were granted control of one half of the universe, and the gods controlled another half of the universe, at its centre were the original world, Aetheus.

THE ELEMENTAL LORDS

There were four primordial who never fought the gods and chose to remain within the sphere of the Divines. These four primordial were the Elemental Lords and ruled over the Inner Planes. All were truly neutral.
  • AIR - Aesuuzhoo (I-soo-shoo), The Lord of the Air, the ruler of the air element.
  • EARTH - Uwoedin (Oo-woah-din), The Lord of the Earth, was the ruler of the earth element.
  • WATER - Ooshiune (Ooo-she-oo-na), The Lord of the Water, was the ruler of the water element.
  • FIRE - Ssiver (S-zee-ver) The Lord of the Fire, was the ruler of the fire element.
