Gifts of the holiday on Aetheria

Write about a wholesome gift in your world. What is it made from and what makes it such a lovely gift? Aetherian Gifts vary between something needed, intended for a purpose, or something from the heart made by hand. They are not really much for frivolous thing except pastries... there's always an occasion for sweets. Tools or Weapons given as gifts are often enchanted. Clothing is made and decorated with the wearing in mind. Jewelry also serves a purpose of carrying protection or healing enchantments. Food is a gift to be shared, as are songs that reflect the heart or life journey of the singer.
During the winter holidays, music and family are the focal points. Weddings are held on the Dawn after the winter solstice after a night of singing, the party lasts all day until the evening meal where all the married couples come by the newlywed's table and share a positive piece of advice before they leave, after a final dance, the groom carries the bride to their home as all the singles shower them with flower petals magically preserved since summer or collected from the more tropical climes. Then the singles party all night.  Gift are something practical or heartfelt.  For their fourth century of marriage, the Guardian and the Oracle were gifted with a portrait, not a formal one but an image of them looking at each other with love. It was enchanted to last forever.
During the summer holidays, it is skill competition and games. Kind of like Iron Man/Warrior Competitions meet the Olympics meets Wipe-Out. Sometimes the best part of the Summer Solstice week of games is the fun of just surviving.
Excerpt from A Huntsman's Hatred
Yurieth climbed up the outside of the Winter Castle as he often did as a boy when he wanted to avoid his parents. He hopped over the three balconies and entered his room rather than following her into the foyer. Quietly, he went down the hall to his father’s study above the library. “Sing another one, my lady, it sounded so lovely while we skated,” Oren asked as she and Cinna entered. Oshay prodded in a voice much higher than his usual deep timbre, “Yes, Lady Fleur, you must sing, it is tradition.” Yurieth settled into his chair in his father’s study above to listen. “I am afraid I know only songs which will make everyone sad, besides the lullabies,” Fleur made an excuse as she gave Oshay a look. Prince Axeus of Axlanxa stared at her, then he disputed her claim, “You’re one of the happiest people I know, how can they all be sad?” Fleur shrugged, answering, “Perhaps another time, my prince.” Yurieth shook his head as they continued to harass her as they used to do him, until finally, his mother Mina intervened, “It is midwinter Eve, none of us can sing except Yurieth and he isn’t here, so you must sing, little flower.” “Fine, fine but don’t say I didn’t warn you.” Fleur surrendered. “Give me a moment to translate them.” She felt Lord Adamos’s smile at her. It was the first bit of magic she had enjoyed in so long and she wondered if it was hers or one of the other oracles in the room sharing their magic with her, so she rose from her place and went to stand by the fire. The first note came pure and sweet, words from her favorite singer-composer, a woman named Enya, who would be lost eons ahead of this time during the harvest of Fleur’s birth world. She rearranged a few words to fit their world because December, like her real name Daisy, was a word that would not exist for thousands of years. “Cold as the northern wind on midwinter’s morning, cold is the cry that rings from this far distant shore...” As she sang through the songs of longing and sorrow, she poured her own emotions through her voice. “Winter lies before me, now you’re so far away. In the darkness of my dreaming The light of you will stay...” Suddenly, she realized she was singing the song she sang at Kaleth’s funeral where she told everyone she would grieve no more until the war was ended. Only her Yuri in the future, her sisters, and Karstien had seen her grief breaking her. To the rest of Aetheria and the human survivors of Terrearth in the colonies, she was a pillar of calm strength and determination, a beacon of light and hope in those dark times. She maintained the façade until the last battle, she stayed for the celebration of victory, and then she left to heal her harvested birth world. Only coming home to get her children and celebrate Karstien’s coronation before leaving Aetheria for decades. If she failed to stop the Shadows in this time, those events might never get the chance to happen. “Where are you this moment, only in my dreams. You’re missing, but you're always, a heartbeat away from me...” The words about being alone and seeking a lost love flowed like blood from her hemorrhaging soul. To soothe herself, she started singing Yurieth’s song, the one she sang to soothe his sleep. But it wasn’t now-Yurieth’s song, it was her future-Yuri’s song. “May it be an evening star shines bright on you. May it be when darkness falls, your heart will be true... You walk a lonely road... Oh how far you roam from home...” Suddenly, she could feel Yurieth above her, listening intently, yearning, through Yllumina’s magic, so she poured her love into the chorus trying to give him hope. She could feel him considering her words but also, his hatred and honor warring with his hope and heart. Upstairs, listening to the song, Yurieth felt like she was singing it to him and trying to encourage him through words and voice. It felt like she was singing to the deepest part of his soul, to the longing he always carried within him. He rejected her sorcery. He reminded himself she was a dark magic wielder, but part of him questioned how so much joy and beauty could come from a shadowed one. It hurt his heart because he chose his honor, and his honor chose to hate her, while she had chosen to love him despite it.
