The Two Moons

Aeryth has two moons, the Old Moon and the New Moon, also known as the Broken Moon and the Demon Moon, or Cyrene and N’Mosis. According to mythology, there was once only one moon in the sky, Cyrene, who was pale and whole and beautiful. The demon N’Mosis grew jealous of her beauty, and arose from the Abyss of Night to take her place in the sky. The two fought a great war, during which Cyrene was shattered, and the pieces of her fell to Aeryth, forming the mountains.
