Zappa, Drunken Bard

Born in the golden city, and son of a wealthy aristocrat. Zappa was always more interested in the arts than the local politics. His father sent him to the arcane academy for a tax cut. Zappa studied some of the magic arts but mostly just drank and played his lute. The academy sent him on a quest to study abroad. Though it was mostly an excuse to get rid of him.
