Forge of Order and Industry
This colossal forge is built within the side of Smite-Stone Volcano . The molten lava that erupts from its geysers has been channeled into a stonework duct system into elaborate forges. Using casts and molds the smiths are able to smelt ores into steel items with great efficiency.
Purpose / Function
The Vahltain demand for steel was greater than what could be forged by hand. A lack of wood to burn within forges was an issue as well. By channeling the natural heat of the mountain's magma geysers. The resource toll was eliminated and a mainline production procedure was created.
Sensory & Appearance
The ringing echo of hammers upon steel ring through the mountainside. The hissing of steam can be heard and seen around the base of the mountain. Intense heat can be felt radiating from the earth. A unique smell of sweat and soot hangs in the air.
Architecture
Tall stone aqueducts braced by rectangular pillars lead streams of water into a pool used cool the metals after they've been cast. Trenches with slow rivers of magma descend of the precipice into the forge chambers. Stone buildings outfitted with carts of ore, heavy black anvils, and cauldrons of molten metal.
History
The forge was built by Old Vahltains within their age. It is assumed they used powerful magic to create the trenches of magma. It was abandoned after the Archaic apocalypse. The ruins of this forge were found after the return to light. It was heavily neglected. Though, it was rebuilt to serve the new empire as they attempt to spread their civilization through Aerra.
