Culture
Major language groups and dialects
The majority of people speak the Vahltain language. Though, there is a lesser spoken language called merrow tongue.
Culture and cultural heritage
Since most people's bloodlines were exiled from the vahltain empire the culture here is very opposite of theirs. They have very few laws and believe most justice is to be carried out by individuals. They also have a very relaxed mentality about death and dying. They often welcome death as a long deserved rest.
Shared customary codes and values
The bolhish people generally believe that life is disposable. Mostly due as a mental adaptation to the constant death and misfortune that occurs in their homeland. These people are often paranoid or overtly violent.
Common Dress code
The poor wear whatever clothes they can find to drape over themselves. The rich wear elaborate dress clothings and large top hats. Many even wear exotic jeweled masks when forced near those they deem lesser.
Funerary and Memorial customs
The poor dispose of their bodies either in the deep swamps, or they sell their bodies to anyone offering goods or money. It is rude to ask what the body is being purchased for. The wealthy reserve spots within gated cemeteries where their cremated ashes are buried in vaults containing all the wealth they wish to take to the their grave.
Common Taboos
The people here are highly xenophobic and it is considered shameful to hope to leave the swamps of bohl. They believe they are the only ones capable of surviving in the swamplands and all others are weak willed cowards.
