Aerlyn

Two rival kingdoms, hemmed in by mountains, and the sea they dare not cross. Three types of magic, each with their own powers and abilities. And one evil menace threatening to destroy it all. Aerlyn. Seth Jackson—blacksmith in training, teenager, and rural farm boy—is caught up in an epic quest to save his realm. A group of rogue magicians kidnaps him, claiming that he might have the power to save them all. But the enemy is strong. Very strong. He wields the third type of magic with effortless ruthlessness. And Seth realizes that he too can control this type of power. If he can learn it before the Brotherhood enslaves everyone. Magic: Three types, Fist, Heart, and Mind. Fist magic is channeled through the hands, and is the most common type of magic. It typically gives the wielder fighting magic, such as strength, speed, or other offensive powers. Heart Magic, channeled from the heart and released in waves, is slightly less common than Fist. It typically gives the wielder defensive magic, such as magical shields and healing powers. However, the third type of magic, Mind Magic, is extremely rare. Channeled through the mind, it gives the wielder a series of seven mind-related powers, building in complexity with understanding of its power. Only four mind magicians are currently alive: 1. Aneth Farseer, able to see a person’s past, present, and occasionally future by focusing on the first mind power. 2. Cassie, able to harness the alternate dimension to create blasts of negative telekinetic energy. Immensely powerful, but vanished some time ago. Presumed dead. 3. The First Brother. Over two hundred years old. Focusing on the Sixth Power, Imbution, has given the Brother the ability to control the minds of nearly anyone he encounters and drain their energy into himself, healing himself at the expense of their lives, even from aging. The Iron Blaze is the only thing stopping him from total domination. 4. Seth Jackson. They say he has mind magic. Seth isn’t so sure. Until he falls out an upstairs window and hits his head. Suddenly, his vision goes in flux. His hearing fades way in and way out. Could he be the savior of Aerlyn? The massive Impassable Mountains  separate Aerlyn from the clans of Sremm and the First Brother’s ever growing army. The one pass is barricaded by the secretive force of rogue magicians known only as the Iron Blaze. Forced out of Aerlyn long ago, they created an impregnable fortress. Now, they serve to keep the banished Brother out. Time will tell if their efforts will be enough.
