Syntharia

Syntharia was raised by a single mother who worked as a maid for a wealthy noble with whom she bore an illegitimate child. Syntharia spent most of her youth with her mother due to the persecution of Tieflings because of her appearance. Her mother became unexpectedly sick in her late teens, the local physician was unwilling to treat her due to her appearance and she slowly died in their home as Syntheria slaved over any tomes on medicine she could find or steal looking for a cure.

This experience is what led her to open up a Clinic in the slums; she accepts all patients regardless of race or the ability to pay. The clinic runs purely on her determination and what little her patients are able to pay along with a few generous donations. Within the last year, Syntharia has begun to exhibit similar early symptoms that plagued her mother when she became sick and has set out in hopes of finding a cure before it takes her life as well.
