Part III : Of Closer Friends and Further Threats

As Yannis headed back to the Amberpine Lodge for a few drinks, he was met by Ilaeth, his mentor. Their interaction was brief, Yannis had a job to do. A man by the name of Gage Wyther was practicing necromancy; it was Yannis' job to kill him. After tidying up some business in Amberpine, the group headed north towards the Crossroads Inn. When Red learned of Flintknuckle's decision to go adventuring, he was filled with a mixture of excitement and pride, and supplied them with drinks for the night. The group grew closer, sharing stories and information over flagons of ale. That night, Red gave Flint his family's ancestral maul, as he viewed Flintknuckle as a kind of son. He made Flint promise to write to him of his adventures, and to be safe. 

They then made their way to the city of Botwulf's Stone, stopping first by Syntharia's clinic to get more info on Gage Wyther. They found that his wife and daughter had died within the last year, succumbing to an illness called Bog Rot. They went to meet with a local doctor by the name of Harlan Rudge while Yannis checked out a local bar and Trovik used his raven familiars to scout above. Harlan didn't have much to offer, as he hadn't seen Gage since his family had been sick. Yannis learned that Gage had been poking around a lower city bar called The Pit, asking about grave robbing. Trovik found what he was looking for in a cave high up on the cliffs. 

Flintknuckle went to visit his dear, sweet mother. Something was terribly wrong.
