Part II : Of Gnashing Tooth and Rending Claw

In Amberpine's temple to Frigg the group met Brother Zael, a priest of Frigg who agreed to join them in their quest to cure Gareth Hargrave of his lycanthropy. They told him of the information they had gathered so far, including Teresa Hargrave's pregnancy and the fact that Isadorra has a lock of her hair. He told them that they knew of the Isadorra, who was revealed to be a hag, though  Zael was distraught, informing the group that the child within Teresa's womb was most certainly a hagling, and would kill her if not removed. Haste would be necessary.

They set off into the forest, goat in tow, to hunt down Gareth. They found him in a cave, bestial and full of fury, with a pack of wolves at his side. They slaughtered most of the wolves, fatally wounding Gareth in the process, though Syntharia quickly stabilized him. Zael set to work quickly, removing the curse from Gareth, reverting his form to that of a battered and bruised young man.

Gareth was informed of Isadorra's treachery and agreed to hunt her down as long as he could burn her hut. The group decided to rest within the cave, an apparent outpost of Gareth's. Early in the morning, Zael gave Syntharia a scroll of Resurrection, letting her know that he thought she might need it. After a few more hours of rest, the group set off towards Isadorra's hut. Upon arrival, Trovik went inside to gain access to some tomes and negotiate.

He returned from the house with a look of harrowing fear, but also with a vial of liquid. Apparently the two had negotiated for a potion which would rid Teresa of the hagling without killing her in exchange for letting Isadorra relocate peacefully, without a fight. No one was necessarily thrilled with this outcome, but accepted it.

Gareth's return was a bittersweet one, and after some explaining she thanked the group for the cure, telling Gareth that they could always try for a child again. Meanwhile, Syntharia spoke to Zael in the temple, asking him to take the scroll back for fear that she would use it selfishly. He assured her that if Frigg willed her to have it, he trusted she would use it well.
