Callistris

Born 4th of 5 children, Callistris was raised in a secluded forest village by her single mother. Too young to remember much else, she grew up helping her mother gather herbs to make decoctions and potions to sell to nearby travellers or any passersby, earning a meager enough living to live modestly. Once she came of age, Callistris left her small village and sought out to be closer to civilization, being interested in the new landscapes and people before joining an apothecary guild, allowing for her to learn and study more, refining her basic alchemical knowledge.

After working under the guild for a while, she had fallen in love with a fellow guildmate, and eventually moved in with her. Many decades had passed, until suddenly her partner had become incredibly sick and unwell. Going off of whatever knowledge she had or could get her hands on, nothing seemed to cure whatever afflicted her beloved. Spending whatever money she earned on having members of the clergy keeping her partner alive, Cal had left the city with the promise of returning with a cure. Cal spent decades wandering nearby woods, swamps, bogs, marshes, consulting with other herbalists, witches or druids for a potential cure, but none could offer much help. Living in seclusion for many years, Callistris grew tired of being alone and decided to relocate to a new city to perhaps learn more about devising a potential cure for her true love before it is too late.
