Blood Magic
Primarily manifesting within those that the north call berserkers, blood magic is a mystical force that is deeply rooted within the physical make up of a person.
Effect
Individuals with blood magic are stronger and more agile than regular men and are often natural warriors.
Blood magic ties to the physical body, which means that those with blood magic can perform some or all of the following:
Side/Secondary Effects
Although Blood Magic grants many abilities, it also has a number of negative effects. Side effects of Blood magic include fiery tempers and passionate emotions. Those with blood magic can also suffer from blood lust, particularly when they were experiencing strong emotions such as anger, resentment, or despair. This blood lust can cause them to be highly aware of the pulses of those around them, which may act as a siren call.
It should also be noted that those with blood magic are susceptible to being bound by blood oaths to other individuals, which effectively enslaves them. A blood oath can only be broken if the enslaved individual is able to intermingle their blood with that of their master (reverse of the oath ritual). Blood Oaths link individuals to each other by both mind and body (thus, unless the bond is broken, if one dies the other will also). The mental link allows the slave to feel the emotions of its master and the master to send commands telepathically.
Manifestation
Blood Magic generally manifests as increased agility, strength and speed. When those with Blood magic give in to their blood lust, or lose control, the veins in their head begin to bulge or pulse. It has also been recorded that individuals losing control have flashing crimson eyes, the eyes of the Abyss.
Source
Blood Magic is a born ability, that is, it is passed down through family lines. The traditions of the Northern Winter clans hold that blood magic manifests in the descendants of The Abyss, the polvublozk, or god, of death, the unknown and thieves. Prior to the Clan Wars and their genocide, it was believed that the majority of Abyss clan members were Berserkers, those born with blood magic.
