Nasune Haru, Monk of the long death

a Wodenji/Wodraethi born to poverty on the Isles of Izu, Haru's childhood was a fleeting and quickly ripening experience. Although he knew his parents, their lives were fraught with danger, as they were both leaders in the weak Clan-Nasune, which was politically outspoken against the unification of the Isles under one government. With his mother garnering the respect of adjacent clans' nobility in her passionate but eloquent approach to diplomacy, and his father's more direct yet violent approach to resistance, his family was usually the target of much discourse from those many who disagreed. One day during Haru's adolescence, his father left on a diplomatic mission in which he needed to meet with the leaders of several important clans, but never returned, leaving Haru as the oldest remaining man in his direct family. Shortly after, through shrewd negotiations, Haru's mother was able to perform a minor miracle in securing Clan Nasune a position as a vassal to the much larger Clan Oyashima just in time for the approaching rebellion.   During the ensuing war between Oyashima and rebels, as part of Nasune's vassalized status, Haru and all other able bodied men were summoned as conscripts to be soldiers in defense of the clan. Once the rebellion was stamped out, Haru was recognized by Oyashima nobility for his outstanding skill with a blade, and he was inducted into training as a clan family samurai to protect lord Inishin, the figurehead of the vassalized Clan-Taira.   During his time as a Clan-Taira samurai, with his newfound income he fell prey to the vice of alcohol, and as a result embarrassed himself one day in front of a diplomatic noble when he drunkenly boasted about not only his lord's prestige, but his own skill with a blade, threatening to show his strength and dishonoring himself as a result. Finding out about such an outburst and such a lack of self control, his master relieved him of service and sent him on a penance pilgrimage across the lands of Oyashima, striking him of his title as samurai. It was during this separation that yet another rebellion struck, and without Haru's presence and skill to defend his lord, Inishin was slain and Clan-Taira was destroyed and it's estates were burned to the ground as a result.   Due to such a disastrous outcome, Haru could do nothing but blame himself as a direct cause to his master's demise. Rather than approach Clan-Oyashima as a survivor of Taira's destruction, He fled the Isles of Izu so that it may be assumed he died along with Taira in it's defense, so that his mother wouldn't need suffer the shame as well.   In his personal exodus from Izu, Haru landed ashore along an inlet into the lands of Riversend and the free kingdoms of man, where he attempted to lay low and learn the language while begging as he traveled inland. Unfortunately, Haru strayed too close to Imperial borders, and as a result of his outlandish features and ways even for an elf, he was arrested under suspicion of being a spy for the Ymerodraeth, where he was transported further inland to Vinheim where he was thrown into imperial dungeons for about a month.   Here is where he met two individuals with very similar backgrounds to his, both also being warrior outcasts from wartorn societies, Halbrand the imperial and Fewic the half-orc. Due to some circumstantial luck, war broke out yet again where the three were, and a mortar freed Haru from his prison. In the ensuing chaos, he and the others escaped vinheim and fled north, where they found shelter and aide at a small farm so long as they put their own work in.   It was here that Haru proved his prowess in combat by slaying a tribe of goblins that had been terrorizing the farm for quite some time, until some celestial cataclysm and obliteration of his moon-god Yinol resulted in the farm amongst many other places being destroyed. Haru now unsure of where his soul might take him after death, due to his religion, took it upon himself to study the way of the long death and prolong his life until answers surfaced.   From here the three compatriots headed east towards a place called Yarnezvicke while in search of a group of mercenaries who promised them work, stopping along the way in a region known as Baron's Oak. He fought many dangers in the unnatural beasts of the land on his way, and aided those in need, such as; slaying a Griffon preying upon the local villagers and imperial garrison, gathering the ingredients for a potion to save a girl, and recovering medicine for a bandit named Geoffrey to save his wife.   Currently, Haru and his compatriots prepare to delve into what appears to be a haunted tomb while on the hunt for treasure, before they embark on a journey to Yarnezvicke
