Halbrand the Beefcake, Fighter Battlemaster

Born to a humble family in the heartlands of the empire of man, Halbrand was raised as an apprentice and successor to his father’s trade, until total war broke out on all sides of the empire and all able-bodied young men were conscripted into the imperial war machine. Drawn in as a foot soldier and sent to slaughter the Druidic peoples of the west to clear more land for his own country, Halbrand’s heart empathized with their plights, whereupon he turned on his commanding officer and slew him.
Subsequently arrested as a traitor and sent to rot in the imperial dungeons of Vinheim, he thought he would spend the last days of his life there rotting away, until invasion came and a stray mortar freed him from his cage, along with two others he managed to befriend in his time there.
Fleeing to the north amidst the chaos, Halbrand and his compatriots found themselves desparate for work and willing to aide those in need for a warm meal. Here they helped a small farm forgotten by its lords in slaying a nearby tribe of goblins, and they found themselves a home, until cataclysm struck, whereupon a celestial object plane-melded above the world and destroyed the moon-god Sullivan/Yinol, and a vampire amongst the ensuing chaos of meteors drove the three East as refugees to the small region of Baron’s oak. Along the road to Baron’s Oak, Halbrand and the others met a halfling trader, as well as another band of mercenaries promising work in the larger barony of Yarnezvicke to the East, should they meet once again.
Here in Baron’s Oak, Halbrand made a small living causing trouble for imperial foot soldiers in the area while profiting off of monster hunting and helping those in need once again, slaying a Griffon which preyed on the locals, saving a dying woman from certain death by gathering the right ingredients for a potion, and gifting a bandit named Geoffrey some medicine to save his wife.
Currently he and the others are taking their time to explore the surrounding environment to delve tombs and solve local problems for as much money as they can make.
