Gaius ascends the throne, supplanting the Senate.

As the Senate had been corrupt and decadent, Imperator Gaius ascended to the throne to great applause from the common people. Even the majority of the Kaiju Citizens considered him a hero, the savior of all, and applauded his ascendancy. Setting his army to work, Imperator Gaius started rebuilding the Imperium, damaged as it were. While the major cosmopolitan areas had been spared, starvation and desperation ruled throughout the land and the peace was hard to win. Time passed and though Imperator Gaius was still well-liked by the people, he started fearing that his life’s work would not be complete and that his confidante and planned successor, Tiberius The Fair, was not ready to take the throne, Imperator Gaius ordered his scholars to start work on a new ritual. This ritual, Gaius ordered, would be one that allowed him to change his soul to a new body, that he may continue ruling until a new Imperator could be named. One he was certain he could trust to take care of his Imperium.
