Second Starfall

Military action

The Stars fall once again, but the Kaiju Kings are more prepared.

While the elves and dwarves had been completely unprepared for the falling stars, the most well-educated of the Kaiju Senators knew that the world had been invaded once before and so, when the stars started falling, the panic amongst the leaders was lessened. Magical barriers was erected over cities, guarding what the Senators considered the most important cities of the Republic. Outside the shields, terror and destruction reigned once more as towns and fields were burned up. Villagers hid wherever they could, but nowhere was safe. When the stars stopped falling and the ships started descending, debris of lives littered the land. Whereas the elves had been forced into immediate retreat when the Star Legionnaires started invading, the Kaiju Republic had two weapons the elves and dwarves had never had; Magic and the Kaijus. General Antonius was certain this would be a quick and easy victory for the Kaiju Republic. A bitter, fifty-year long war began. The Kaiju Republic’s armies nearly lost the war, but upon the death of General Antonius, the war effort was taken over by a young man, almost as powerful in his magic as the ancient Kaiju Kings and certainly as cunning as any of them; General Gaius. A tactician of stunning creativity, he turned the war around. While not as desperate as the first war, the Second Starfall still took a hefty toll on the world, but in the end, lead by General Gaius, the Kaiju armies crushed the last of the metal ships. While the ships that had attacked in the Occult Age had been allowed to escape, General Gaius ordered his Kaiju to allow no such escape. Battered by titanfire and torn apart by claw and tooth, no ship was left to return to the stars.
