Justain returns, but is betrayed.

The people rejoiced as Justain returned to Equitor and so did he, for his payment was an honor not to him, but to his God. As he entered the merchants’ halls in Equitor, he asked that construction on the temple begin immediately. The hearts of those who worship gold are easily corrupted, however, and while Justain had been gone, the devil Mammon, Duke of Hell, had whispered in the ears of his employers. “The threat is neutralized” he crooned “Why would you waste such money on the gods?” He tempted “Do gods really need material things?” he sweetly whispered. And so, the merchant lords instead threw Justain in chains. Fearing his death would lead to rebellion, for he was well liked, the merchant lords instead sent him to the Prison Isle of Panthanax, from which none had ever escaped.
