General Attorum leads the people in a violent revolution.

While the people were still in shock, General Attorum stepped out in front of the ruins and took responsibility for the explosion. The dragon emperors, he claimed, had been tyrants and it was time that men ruled their own destiny. With alchemical weapons in hand, all enemies would be driven out. The will of the people would rule, he said. Of course, he would be the one interpreting that will.
A bloody revolution followed, with General Attorum leading a militia consisting mostly of dissatisfied peasants and loyal soldiers, murdering indiscriminately as they took the country. In the end, after six years, Attorum returned to the capital, renaming it Grand Attor and giving himself the title Grand Marshall Of The People’s Militia Of The People’s Sovereign Nation.
For a good 35 years, Attorum ruled the PSN with an iron fist. While the initial idea of a nation ruled by the people may have spoken to many, the reality was quite different. Attorum was a brutal and bloodthirsty dictator, regularly killing off anyone he even suspected of conspiring against him.
