Justain, the First Paladin

Justain starts his quest as his family is slain.

The man that would become the first Taldor emperor was born far from the lands he would one day rule, in the cold northern reaches. Justain was born to a simple farmer and he thought he would be the same. This future was interrupted when bandits came to his village. The bandits raided his farm and slew his parents, taking their turns torturing and beating Justain before leaving him for dead, setting the torch to his home and riding back from whence they came. Lying in the snow, bleeding out, he cried out for justice. Just as his life left him, however, he saw a shining light. A voice called out to him, thundering and melodic at the same time, giving him an offer: His life saved. In return, he would dedicate his life to spreading justice. Justain did not hesitate. Lying there, on the precipice of death, he swore his soul to Elohim. When he tracked the bandits down a week later, he was no longer a mere man. With righteous fury and divine might, he struck his tormentors down one by one. Setting the prisoners of the bandits freed, he then told them of the glories of Elohim and the promise of Justice.
